Self – sustainability

SELF-SUSTAINABILITY

The Sisters of Mary of the Miraculous Medal are present in Africa (Benin). To respond to the charism of their Foundress, Mother Léopoldine BRANDIS who was inspired by the spirituality of Saint Vincent de Paul, the sisters put themselves in the care and assistance of the sick, the elderly, in difficult situations and also of others layers of society in order to restore their dignity as human beings.

Also, the Sisters of Mary work for self-sustainability by meeting their needs through small works they carry out with the help of God and people of good will. As social workers, the sisters offer care to sick people in health centers and look after girls who are orphans or in difficult situations, they are also in teaching and catechesis work. They also give themselves for the making of priestly vestments, small-scale agro-pastoral, in order to meet their needs.

To fully achieve self-sustainability, it is necessary to be attentive to the needs of the present time, but by first seeking the will of God and remaining faithful to the spirit of the foundress with creativity and innovation.
